Ray Wylie Hubbard is adding another honor to a career that has stretched more than five decades.
The legendary singer-songwriter will be inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame on Thursday, September 10, during his concert at Tower Theatre in Oklahoma City.
The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame and Museum announced the honor this week, recognizing the Oklahoma-born songwriter whose career would eventually become closely tied to the Texas outlaw country and Americana scenes.
The timing of the Hall of Fame announcement comes during a busy stretch for Hubbard. His new album, *Reel 2 Reel 4 Real*, is set for release Friday, August 21. The 10-song project marks another chapter in a recording career that dates back to the 1970s.
Hubbard’s Oklahoma City show is set for September 10 at Tower Theatre, with doors opening at 7 p.m. and the show beginning at 8 p.m. His Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame induction will take place during the concert.
Not bad for a guy who has spent most of his career being claimed by Texas.
