Ray Wylie Hubbard is officially a member of the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.
The Oklahoma born singer and songwriter was inducted Thursday night, September 10, during his performance at the Tower Theatre in Oklahoma City.
The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame announced the honor following the show, calling Hubbard a legendary songwriter and musician whose career has spanned more than five decades.
Hubbard was born in Soper, Oklahoma, before eventually making his way to Texas, where he became one of the most respected and recognizable figures in the Texas country, Americana and roots music scenes.
Over the years, his songwriting, unmistakable vocal style and fiercely independent approach to making music have earned him the respect of artists across country, rock, blues and Americana.
The Hall of Fame praised Hubbard for building his career “on his own terms” and for creating a musical legacy Oklahoma is proud to claim.
The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame officially welcomed Hubbard into its family following the induction, congratulating him on the honor and celebrating his Oklahoma roots.
