Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are taking their longtime friendship to television, and their new series has a very Texas twist.
Apple TV has released the first trailer for “Brothers,” a new comedy starring McConaughey and Harrelson as fictionalized versions of themselves.
The eight episode series plays off the real life friends’ much talked about possibility that they could actually be biological brothers. In the show, that question becomes a full blown family mystery when the two uncover a decades old secret suggesting they may share more than just a friendship.
Things get even more complicated when Woody’s daughter’s engagement falls apart and he packs up his family and heads to Austin for an extended stay at Matthew’s ranch.
McConaughey and Harrelson both star in and executive produce the series. The cast also includes Holland Taylor, Natalie Martinez, Brittany Ishibashi, Nolan Almeida, Ella Grace Helton, Noah Carganilla, Highdee Kuan and Oona Yaffe.
“Brothers” premieres Wednesday, September 23, on Apple TV with its first two episodes. A new episode will follow each Wednesday through November 4.
