Country music legend Tanya Tucker is headed to Austin this fall to headline a special night benefiting one of the city’s most historic green spaces.
The Country Music Hall of Fame member will headline the Fifth Annual Imagine Muny Gala on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at ACL Live at the Moody Theater.
This year’s event, themed “Texas Stars and Muny Legends,” will also feature Asleep at the Wheel with The Copa Kings, Jack Ingram and Wade Bowen, along with additional special guests.
The annual fundraiser benefits The Muny Conservancy and its ongoing effort to preserve and improve Austin’s historic Lions Municipal Golf Course, better known as Muny.
Muny’s significance goes far beyond golf. The 102 year old course includes 141 acres of treasured green space that serves as a wildlife sanctuary atop a water recharge zone, along with hundreds of heritage oak and pecan trees. The course also holds an important place in civil rights history as the first public golf course in the South to desegregate.
The Muny Conservancy was created in 2019 to raise funds and work with the City of Austin and the University of Texas to permanently preserve Lions Municipal Golf Course. For more than a century, the course has operated on land leased from the University of Texas, and the organization is working to ensure the property remains Muny for future generations.
Once the course is permanently preserved, The Muny Conservancy plans to restore and improve the 141 acre property with award winning golf course architecture firm Coore & Crenshaw. Plans also include additional public amenities and a teaching center honoring the historic integration of the course and the people who helped make it happen.
Last year’s Fourth Annual Imagine Muny Gala became The Muny Conservancy’s largest fundraiser to date, raising more than $1 million for the preservation effort. The sold out event featured GRAMMY Award winner Wynonna Judd and Texas country band Chaparelle.
This year, Tanya Tucker brings more than five decades of country music history to the ACL Live stage.

The Muny Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Funds raised by individuals and foundations will support facility and grounds renovations and the addition of public amenities to the property.
