Apparently, the only thing better than one Ronnie Dunn is TWO Ronnie Dunns!
Kacey Musgraves gave fans a hilarious surprise Monday night, September 28, during her Middle of Nowhere Tour stop at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena when she brought out Ronnie Dunn for a performance of the Brooks & Dunn classic “Neon Moon.” But she wasn’t about to let Ronnie be the only Ronnie onstage.
Kacey showed up dressed as the country music legend himself, complete with a wig, fake facial hair, sunglasses and an outfit inspired by Dunn’s signature look. The result? Ronnie Dunn performing alongside a Ronnie Dunn impersonator who just happened to be Kacey Musgraves.
And this wasn’t her first time pulling the stunt.
Back in March, Kacey surprised unsuspecting customers at Nashville’s Robert’s Western World when she appeared dressed as Dunn and performed “Neon Moon.” She even recreated some of his tattoos for the occasion.
When she shared that original transformation on Instagram, Ronnie himself got in on the joke, commenting, “Damn, I look good!”

Of course, Kacey and Ronnie have some history with the song. She joined Brooks & Dunn for a new recording of “Neon Moon” on their 2019 album Reboot, which featured the legendary duo collaborating with a collection of country artists.
Monday night’s performance came at the end of Kacey’s second consecutive show at Bridgestone Arena. The evening also included a little Texas music appreciation, with covers of George Strait’s “All My Ex’s Live in Texas” and the Texas Tornados’ “(Hey Baby) ¿Qué Pasó?”
But bringing out the real Ronnie Dunn while dressed as Ronnie Dunn? That’s going to be a tough concert moment to top.
