Wetzel is proving he doesn’t need a massive stage, pyro or a wall of sound to make an impression.
The Texas native just released a new Vevo Studios performance of “When I’m Gone,” stripping the song down to Koe, one guitarist and not much else. The performance was filmed at Vevo Studios in New York and puts the focus squarely on Koe’s vocals and the song itself.
“When I’m Gone” comes from Koe’s latest album, The Night Champion, released June 12. The song is one of the more soulful moments on the record, leaning away from some of the harder country rock sound Koe is known for.
It’s also been a big year of change for Koe. He’s talked openly about slowing down, becoming a father, getting engaged and taking better care of himself, changes he says have affected everything from his mindset to his music.
Koe is currently out on his Night Champion World Tour, with dates continuing through October, including a Texas stop in Lubbock on October 30.
