The life and career of Shania Twain are headed to the big screen.
A new biopic titled Shania is currently in development, with the country superstar attached as a producer on the project.
While details are still limited, the film will be written and directed by Leah McKendrick for Sony Pictures.
McKendrick most recently directed the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy Voicemails for Isabelle.
No casting announcements have been made, and there is no word yet on which chapters of Twain’s life the film will focus on. Between her record-breaking success in country music, crossover pop stardom, highly publicized divorce, vocal health struggles, and eventual comeback, there is certainly no shortage of material to work with.
A release date for Shania has not yet been announced.
