At just 4 years old, Duffy has seen some things in his life. He first arrived as an adult dog very sick with distemper. He may have never had a vaccine before arriving in our care and luckily the medical team was able to support him through the worst of distemper, which attacks a dog’s neurological system. The only thing to do is to treat the symptoms and hope the virus runs its course. In Duffy’s case (and most survivors), it left him with a permanent tic where he does an adorable jaw clench. It doesn’t hurt and doesn’t make Duffy any different than another dog!
Duffy is a sweet dog that needs a little space to warm up to new people on his terms. But once he does? Oh man, he’s the sweetest guy that tucks his head close to your heart to share his uncomparable love.
