Matthew McConaughey and Pedro Pascal are set to star in a new Western thriller titled “The Brigands of Rattlecreek.”
The film centers around a sheriff and a doctor who team up to track down a group of bandits after a small town is attacked during a violent thunderstorm.
It’s not just the cast that’s stacked. The project is being directed by acclaimed filmmaker Park Chan-wook, known for films like Oldboy and Decision to Leave, with a script from S. Craig Zahler, the writer behind Bone Tomahawk.
The movie has reportedly been in development for more than 20 years, but with this level of star power attached, it’s now getting serious attention in the film world.
Additional cast members are expected to include Austin Butler and Tang Wei, adding even more firepower to the lineup.
The project is set to be presented to buyers at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, where it’s already generating buzz as one of the more anticipated Western films currently in the works.
No official release date has been announced yet, but between the cast, the director, and the storyline, this one is already shaping up to be a major project to watch.
