Cody Johnson just made it official… a brand new album is on the way.
He announced that his next project, Banks of the Trinity, will drop on Friday, June 26, marking his first full studio album since Leather and its deluxe release in 2024.
Johnson shared the news directly with fans on social media, calling this record a deeply personal one rooted in where he came from.
According to CoJo, the title track instantly took him back to his childhood in Sebastopol, Texas. He described memories of growing up along the river, riding dirt roads, and stopping by a small local grocery store for a cream soda and Blue Bell ice cream while listening to stories from locals. That same store is even featured on the album cover, tying the whole project back to his roots.
If that gives you any indication, this album sounds like it’s going to lean heavy into storytelling and nostalgia.
Fans won’t have to wait long for the first taste, either. The lead track, “I Want You,” is set to drop ahead of the album release … TOMORROW!
Beyond that, Banks of the Trinity is expected to include some big-name collaborations, including Luke Combs and Brothers Osborne, adding even more firepower to what’s already shaping up to be a major release year for Johnson.
