Melody Place Records and the Dan Seals Estate have announced Dan Seals & Friends: The Last Duet, a special tribute album set for release August 28, 2026. The project celebrates the life and music of Dan Seals, the Texas-born singer-songwriter known for his work in both pop and country music.
This all-star collection brings together performances from legendary artists and modern stars who grew up listening to Seals’ music. Contributors include Country Music Hall of Fame acts Alabama and Tanya Tucker, current radio favorites Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton, longtime collaborators Marie Osmond, John Berry, and John Ford Coley, as well as pop and crossover voices like Katharine McPhee and Lynda Carter. Other such as The Castellows, Jackie Evancho, Ned LeDoux, Wendy Moten, and Jasmine Amy Rogers also join the project, along with Jamey Johnson and Sara Evans.
The album uses Seals’ original vocal recordings pulled from across his career and pairs them with new performances by these artists. The idea is to let each collaborator choose a song that resonated with them personally, offering fresh takes on Seals’ classic catalog while preserving his heartfelt style.
Produced by long-time friend and producer Kyle Lehning, The Last Duet includes tracks that were teased ahead of the full release, such as Luke Bryan’s “Everything That Glitters (Is Not Gold)”, Jamey Johnson’s “Three Time Loser”, and Jasmine Amy Rogers’ “My Baby’s Got Good Timing.”
Sara Evans just released her duet with Seals on “Nights Are Forever Without You,” bringing a new life to the classic originally recorded by England Dan & John Ford Coley.
