Dolly Parton was formally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday. As usual, she was adorable. After accepting the honor she said, quote, “I guess I’m a rock star now.”

She also addressed her decision to remove herself from the nomination process, only to “gracefully” accept it when the Hall wouldn’t take no for an answer.
Quote, “A lot of you knew that back when they said they were gonna put me in, I didn’t feel like I had done enough to deserve that. I didn’t understand at the time that it’s about more than that, but I’m honored and so proud to be here tonight.”
As promised, she wrote a new song for the night. It’s called “Rockin'” and she performed it while wearing a leather outfit. (Here’s a clip.)
She helped close the show with a performance of “Jolene” . . . and she was joined by several stars including Pink, Brandi Carlile, Sheryl Crow, Annie Lennox, Pat Benatar, and Judas Priest singer Rob Halford. (Here’s video.)
The induction ceremony took place last night, but we will have to wait a little longer to watch it. HBO Max will air the event on Saturday, November 19th.
