No. 6 Seed Texas has upset No. 2 Seed Maryland in the NCAAW Tournament. Texas held the highest scoring team in the nation to 61 points, a season low for the Terrapins.
Out of Texas’ starters, four were in double digit scoring territory, and it ultimately came down to rebounds and 3-point scoring percentage. Texas had 38 total rebounds and made 6/15 3-pointers. Maryland had 36 rebounds but only 5/22 3-pointers.
Game leaders were Charli Collier from Texas with 16 points and 11 rebounds. For Maryland, Diamond Miller had 21 points and 8 rebounds.
Personal fouls were lopsided in Texas’ favor, Maryland with 19 and Texas holding to 12. Both teams were neck-and-neck all night, with Maryland holding the lead for most of the first half. The 3rd quarter was where Texas came out strong and didn’t waiver through the end.
