The Taylor Police Officers Association will host a benefit to help the family of a local officer.
In May, Taylor Police Sergeant Anthony Morehouse learned that his wife Kristie has colon cancer that has spread to her lungs.
According to the Taylor Press, the Police Officers Association will have a barbecue event to help raise funds for medical expenses. The benefit will be held Saturday, Aug. 29, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Northview Church, 2900 N. Main Street in Taylor.
The benefit will have barbecue plates for sale and a silent auction.
Mrs. Morehouse homeschools their four children and teaches them to feed and collect eggs from chickens, milk the cow and make homemade bread.
