Ludwig is a party animal who thinks training sessions are the best kind of playtime. This smart pup is always excited to see his trainer arrive because he knows it’s time to practice his many skills and learn new ones. He’s very eager to please and performs his commands enthusiastically, especially when treats are involved.
When he’s not in school, Ludwig loves chasing toys, playing tug-o-war and trying to jump in people’s laps. While Ludwig is always up for an adventures and ready to party, he also tires out pretty easily and then is ready to settle down for some cuddles.
Ludwig has been thriving in APA!’s Total Obedience Program and recently became TOP Dog Ready, which means he has already learned all the skills in his training plan. The Total Obedience Program (TOP) is modeled after the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. Dogs in the program learn skills including sit and down, walking nicely on leash, sitting calmly when approached by strangers, calmly walking past another dog, staying in a sit or down until told “free,” coming when called and “place”, which means Ludwig will go to a specific place in your home on command.
As a TOP Dog, Ludwig has worked hard to become a wonderful companion, and as a part of APA’s Total Obedience Program you can work with APA staff to continue to build a training relationship with him after adoption and master all the TOP dog skills together. Ludwig makes sure to keeps training fun with his goofy expressions and the adorable way he insists he knows best how to do new skills before adapting to the trainer’s way. He is very affectionate with his friends, forms attachments quickly and has bonded very closely with his trainers.
Ludwig would love a home with a yard and people who are willing to continue his training. In return he promises to keep you entertained and shower you with love and affection. Come meet this amazing pup!
