It’s another new music Friday, here are some notable releases.
There’s been a lot songs released lately with what are meant to be hopeful lyrics but can come off as a little gloomy. Josh Abbott Band’s new song Luckiest is nothing but gratitude for everyday life.
We’re all lucky King Goerge still makes country records.
Craig Morgan came out with a new album today, ‘God, Family, Country’ it’s no secret how much those three things mean to him. The album contains five remastered classics and five new songs including the powerful and personal The Father, My Son, And The Holy Ghost.
Whiskey is a classic Morgan country song. Soldier on the other hand is a little different for the Amry vet, who has his share of military songs, but this one is about being a solider to the woman he loves. It’s a perfect example of Morgan belting out every lyric with one of the most powerful voices in country music.
Finally, we have Mo Pitney. Alright, I need to come clean he came out with this song last week and I totally missed it, but it’s more than worth noting.
Mattress On The Floor is textbook Mo. The simple lyrics paired with his powerful yet soft voice creates a beautiful vision for every listener.
Mo may never get the recognition he deserves and there are times when that really bothers me. Anyone who loves good country music should hear Mo, he could easily be a staple of traditional sounding country music. But maybe commercial success isn’t all that important to him, just like his lyrics suggest “ain’t it something, how you got it all, when you’ve got nothing”
Oh, I think Florida Georgia Line came out with a song, but we don’t need to talk about that.
