WATCH: Luke Combs Crush Chris Stapleton Cover For The Deep Cut Challenge

This is going to be fun.

Country artists are challenging each other to cover some lesser-known songs with the #deepcoverchallenge. After covering Jason Aldean’s ‘Water Tower’ Morgan Wallen challenged Luke Combs to the cover of his choice.

After taking a few days Luke decided to play Chris Stapelton’s first single as a solo artist ‘What Are You Listening To’.

A few nights ago @morganwallen challenged me to the #DeepCutsChallenge. I decided to do “What’re You Listening To” by @chrisstapleton. This may not technically be a deep cut but it’s a song that didn’t get as much credit as I think it deserved. Chris, I’m sorry I messed up the bridge, don’t hate me. Hope y’all enjoy and I want to challenge @vincegillofficial to lay one down.

‘What Are You Listening To’ was released back in 2013 after Chris had done a number of stops with different bands. Most notably The Steeldrivers. The song never became a hit, but it remains one of my favorites.

Combs finished the caption of his post by asking Vince Gill to “Lay one down”. We’ll see what ole Sweet Pea throws down for us.
