Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton made musical magic for years after their debut duet ‘Islands in The Stream’ in 1983. From holiday hits to pop culture classics, they were one of America’s favorite duet acts.
Dolly learned of Kenny’s passing like many of us this morning; on television. She took to social media to share some thoughts on her dear friends death.
You never know how much you love somebody until they’re gone. I’ve had so many wonderful years and wonderful times with my friend Kenny, but above all the music and the success I loved him as a wonderful man and a true friend. pic.twitter.com/hIQLIvt8pr

Many artists have taken to social media since the news broke that Kenny died Friday night from natural causes under the care of hospice and surrounded by family. None were as close to the Gambler than Dolly.
