
After going into cardiac arrest at Jupiter Medical Center in Florida, Burt Reynolds has passed away at the age of 82.
Burton Leon Reynolds Jr. was an American actor, director and producer. He first rose to prominence starring in television series such as Gunsmoke and Dan August.
His breakout film role was as Lewis Medlock in Deliverance. Reynolds played the leading role in a number of box office hits, such as The Longest Yard, Smokey and the Bandit, Semi-Tough, Hooper, Smokey and the Bandit II , The Cannonball Run and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.
He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Boogie Nights and was the #1 box-office attraction for a five-year stretch starting in the late 1970s.
