George Strait was in town last week, but not just to sing … but to raise money. The show at ACL LIVE at the Moody Theatre was held in partnership with Discovery Land Company Foundation to raise money for hurricane relief in the Bahamas.
Strait managed to raise $1.5 million dollar for the people of the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian destroyed most of the island this past September.
If you missed the concert and would still like to help, you can buy a t-shirt like the one the Kind wore on stage. The funds raised will benefit the Abaco Relief Fund, which aims to “assist with the immediate disaster relief needs of Bahamian citizens, including water, shelter, medical needs, and the recovery of the community.”
The t-shirt features a play on George’s chart-topping song, “Ocean Front Property,” with the colors of the Bahamian flag.
