Kacey Musgraves and Willie Nelson will share the stage during tomorrow night’s 2019 CMA Awards to perform the famous Muppets song, “Rainbow Connection.”
Kacey turned to Instagram to share GMA’s exclusive announcement, alongside a throwback video of herself performing the song when she was nine years old.
“A [WILLIE] FULL CIRCLE MOMENT,” she writes in the caption.
Willie’s performance with Kacey marks the first time in seven years that the star has performed at the CMAs since winning the inaugural Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2012 ceremony.
“Rainbow Connection” was written by Paul Williams and Kenneth Ascher for the 1979 film The Muppet Movie. The song, originally performed by Kermit the Frog, voiced by Jim Henson. Nelson recorded the song for his 2001 album Rainbow Connection.
