This year is turning out to be a VERY good one for Tanya Tucker.
Not only does she have her first album of new material in 17 years coming out in August, she is now getting her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
Entertainment Tonight is reporting that Tanya will be a part of the 2020 class of celebrities receiving the honor. Others being honored include Chris Hemsworth, Julia Roberts, Octavia Spencer, Spike Lee, Cindy Crawford, and Dr. Phil McGraw.
Musicians from almost every genre will also be be recognized in 2020, including Elvis Costello, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Alicia Keys, Bobby Rydell, Alejandro Sanz, Andy Madadian and the late Muddy Waters.
Selection Committee Chair and Walk of Famer Vin Di Bona says in a press release:
“The Walk of Fame Selection Committee is pleased to announce our newest honorees to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This year’s choices were particularly unique. We were able to recognize the talents of 35 artists who have already built a legacy here in Hollywood. Also, we were able to celebrate many new talented artists who’ve touched our hearts in film, television, radio and a variety of musical categories.”
Tucker is set to release a new album, While I’m Living, on August 23rd. The collection marks her first new studio album in 17 years, and it includes a cover of Miranda Lambert’s “The House That Built Me.” Tucker has released the album’s lead single, “Wheels of Laredo.” Click HERE to watch the music video.
The official date for Tucker’s Hollywood Walk of Fame induction has not yet been announced.
