Wade Bowen has released the official music video for “Weight On The Levee,” featuring bluegrass legend Dan Tyminski, and the collaboration brings a gritty, bluesy edge to the Texas country favorite’s sound.
The song appears on Bowen’s latest album, The Version of Me You Get, and was written by Tyminski and acclaimed singer-songwriter Sean McConnell.
Tyminski, whose unmistakable voice was featured on “Man of Constant Sorrow” from O Brother, Where Art Thou?, adds another layer of soul to the track, which explores the pressures of life and the struggle to keep everything from falling apart.
Filmed at McConnell’s Silent Desert Studios near Nashville, the video keeps the focus on the music, capturing the raw energy and chemistry between the two performers.
“Weight On The Levee” is one of the standout tracks from The Version of Me You Get, a project Bowen originally recorded in 2020 before shelving it for several years. The album finds him exploring a more roots-driven sound while tackling themes of hardship, resilience and personal growth.
