Wade Bowen has a new album on the way, and according to the Texas singer-songwriter, it has been a long time coming.
Bowen recently announced that his 11th studio album, The Version Of Me You Get, will arrive on September 25th. The 10-song project was co-produced with longtime friend and collaborator Sean McConnell and promises a more personal and reflective side of Bowen than fans may be used to hearing.
Interestingly, this isn’t a brand-new record. Bowen says the album was completed years ago but ended up sitting on the shelf while life, touring and other projects took priority. After revisiting the songs recently, he realized the material connected with him in a way it hadn’t before, making now the right time to finally release it.
Along with the album announcement, Bowen released a new song called “People Like Us.” The track follows his recent single “Rain” and continues the album’s themes of family, resilience, hard work and small-town values.
