How do I stay updated?
Register at WarnCentralTexas.org to receive the latest emergency notices and advisories. Residents are asked to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. Remember to observe road signs and closures and stay up-to-date on the latest weather conditions. Avoid the hazards of walking or driving through flood waters – turn around don’t drown.

Can I volunteer?
There was an overwhelming response over the weekend. The Red Cross is not holding immediate trainings at this time.
Where can donations be made?
The Red Cross is currently accepting monetary donations only at this time. Contact the Red Cross at 800-928-4271 or visit redcross.org for donation information.
Where can I donate blood?
We Are Blood is currently accepting blood donations at three locations in North Austin, South Austin, and Round Rock. Walk-ins accepted. All blood types are needed but O Positive and O Negative are needed most. Blood donations will be needed through the end of August. Who should I contact if I need help?
Call 9-1-1 for emergencies and 3-1-1 for non-emergencies.
How is coastal evacuee shelter information shared with the public?
Updates are available by calling 512-974-2000 or 3-1-1, in the local area.
Are hurricane shelters available to the public?
Yes. Call 311 or 512-974-2000 for the latest information on shelter location. If you have household pets, bring them with you to the shelter and arrangements will be made to house them onsite. There are currently no local evacuations in the Central Texas region.
What shelters are available for livestock?
The Travis County Expo Center (7311 Decker Ln. 78724) is available for sheltering livestock. Please contact 3-1-1 for more information.
How can I check on a loved one or register myself as safe?

Is there an alternative shelter for the homeless?
Yes, a temporary shelter for the homeless has been established at South Austin Recreation Center (1100 Cumberland Rd. 78704) and will be in operation until 6 a.m. on Monday, August 28. For more information, please call 512-978-2440.
Where do I go for emergency clothes and assistance?
Call 2-1-1 for food and clothing emergencies.
What are the flood conditions in the Onion Creek area?
The current weather conditions DO NOT indicate a flooding risk to homes in Onion Creek based on the current weather conditions. There is NO EVACUATION planned at this time. The City of Austin staff will continue to closely monitor flood conditions in Onion Creek as well as other waterways in Austin.
Can I go back to my home after evacuating, yet?
Stay in Austin until officials deem it safe to return. There are still flood dangers along with gas and water shortages in hurricane effected areas. Call 3-1-1
