Kacey Musgraves just dropped her new album Middle of Nowhere on Friday, and one track getting attention is her duet with Willie Nelson called “Uncertain, TX.”
The song pulls its name from the small East Texas town near Caddo Lake, and it keeps things laid-back with a stripped-down sound that lets the story come through.
Kacey handles the lead vocal here, with Willie mostly coming in on harmonies, adding that signature tone underneath without taking over the track.
Lyrically, there’s a little bite to it. It leans into calling out a certain kind of guy, the one who keeps things just vague enough to stay out of trouble, which ties right into that “uncertain” theme.
It’s a simple, Texas-rooted moment on the album and one that stands out pretty quickly.
