Kacey Musgraves’ brand new album Middle of Nowhere is out today, and one track that’s already getting a lot of attention is her duet with Miranda Lambert, “Horses and Divorces.”
The two Texas natives teaming up feels like a full-circle moment. Both have carved out their own lanes in country music, but they share that same East Texas-rooted storytelling that cuts straight to the point.
“Horses and Divorces” leans into exactly what the title suggests. It’s honest, a little sharp around the edges, and delivered in a way that feels effortless coming from both of them. You can hear the personality in it, and it doesn’t try too hard to be anything other than what it is.
Even after long standing beef, there’s always been a lot of respect between Kacey and Miranda, and you can hear that chemistry here. It’s not overdone, it’s just two strong voices telling a story the way they know how.
Take a listen to the lyric video above … with a few dirty words for flavor.
