Rising country artist Avery Anna just picked up a big career milestone, being named the ACM’s New Female Artist of the Year.
She got the news in a very Texas way. During her performance at the Lone Star Smokeout, Sam Barber surprised her onstage with the announcement, catching her completely off guard in front of a live crowd. She was then joined by her family and team to celebrate the moment.
The announcement comes ahead of the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards, set for Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The show will stream live on Prime Video, with Shania Twain hosting for the first time.
Anna has been steadily building momentum with her songwriting and releases, quickly becoming one of the format’s fastest-rising new artists.
