Ariana Grande is stepping into the Meet the Parents universe with a role in the upcoming film Focker In-Law.
The movie marks the fourth installment in the long-running franchise and also stars Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro, who return to reprise their roles.
In this new chapter, Grande plays the son’s girlfriend, bringing her into the middle of one of the most notoriously tense family dynamics in comedy. As expected, her character quickly finds herself under scrutiny, including a scene involving the franchise’s signature lie detector test with De Niro’s character.
Unlike previous introductions into the family, early footage suggests her character handles the pressure with confidence, holding her own during some of the film’s more intense moments.
The story takes place more than 20 years after the original Meet the Parents, shifting focus to the next generation while maintaining the same themes of family tension, awkward encounters, and over-the-top situations.
Focker In-Law is scheduled to be released in theaters on Thanksgiving of 2026.
