For more than 50 years, Asleep at the Wheel has helped keep Western swing alive, staying true to the sound while much of the industry moved on.
Now, part of that history is heading to auction.
Items from the personal collection of frontman Ray Benson are being made available, offering a look at his decades-long career.
The collection includes instruments, memorabilia, and pieces tied to Benson’s time on the road, along with connections to other Texas music icons like Willie Nelson and the Armadillo World Headquarters era.
This isn’t your typical auction. It’s a full-on Texas time capsule.
- Vintage concert posters, including Willie Nelson memorabilia
- Armadillo World Headquarters-era artwork and collectibles
- Restored and unrestored gas pumps
- Texas beer signs and oil & gas advertising
- One-of-a-kind neon pieces from artist Evan Voyles of Neon Jungle
Preview starts May 1 with live auction on May 2nd at noon in New Braunfels, TX.
If you want more details on the auction, preview times, or how to bid, you can find everything at Burley Auction Gallery’s website.
