This week’s number one song on the Texas Regional Radio Report belongs to the Randy Rogers Band featuring Parker McCollum with “Is This Thing Workin’.”
This one’s a true Texas country full-circle moment. Randy Rogers and Parker McCollum have been connected for years, with Rogers helping mentor McCollum early on, and now the two are sharing the top spot together.
The song was co-written by Randy Rogers, Parker McCollum, and Monty Criswell, and came out of a writing session where they knocked out multiple songs in a single stretch.
“Is This Thing Workin’” blends that classic Red Dirt storytelling the Randy Rogers Band is known for with Parker’s more modern edge, which is probably why it’s connecting so strongly across Texas radio right now.
It’s also a big moment for fans of both artists, who have watched this friendship and musical partnership build over the years… and now it’s paying off with a number one song in Texas.
