Ty Myers is back with new music, and this time, the Dripping Springs native is leaning all the way into it.
The 18-year-old Texas artist just released his sophomore album, Heavy On The Soul, a 17-track project out now on RECORDS Nashville/Columbia.
The new record follows his well-received debut, The Select, which went GOLD and helped introduce Myers as one of the younger names to keep an eye on out of Texas.
On Heavy On The Soul, Myers blends Southern rock, soul, and blues, the sounds that have shaped him since he was a kid growing up in Central Texas. It’s a direction that feels even more intentional when you look at where the album was made.
He recorded the project at the legendary FAME Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, a place known for producing some of the most iconic records in American music.
Myers also had a major hand in the writing, penning 11 of the album’s 17 tracks on his own.
At just 18, the Dripping Springs local is already building a strong resume, following up a GOLD-certified debut with a full-length project that continues to show his range and influences.
Fans may already recognize a few of the tracks, including “Leaving Carolina,” “Through a Screen,” and “Message to You,” which were released ahead of the full album.
The project also includes “Two Trains,” a Little Feat cover featuring Marcus King.
