Chuck Norris, the martial arts legend turned action movie star and Walker, Texas Ranger icon, has died at the age of 86.
His family confirmed the news in a statement shared on social media, saying he passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.
Norris reportedly experienced a medical emergency while in Hawaii just days after celebrating his 86th birthday, where he had even shared a video of himself still training.
Born Carlos Ray Norris in Oklahoma, he first made a name for himself as a martial arts champion in the 1960s before transitioning into Hollywood. He went on to star alongside Bruce Lee in The Way of the Dragon, launching a long run of action films like The Delta Force and Invasion U.S.A..
For a lot of folks, though, he’ll always be Cordell Walker. Walker, Texas Ranger ran throughout the ‘90s and cemented Norris as a household name, especially here in Texas.
