Big news out of the Texas country world today… and it’s one that goes a lot deeper than music.
Randall King has announced he’s stepping away from touring for the time being, sharing a personal message with fans about needing to refocus his life.
In a statement posted to social media, King opened up about taking a hard look at himself over the past few weeks and recognizing areas that need real change. He shared that his choices haven’t just impacted him, but also the people closest to him.
King says his faith is leading this decision, explaining that he doesn’t feel right being on stage without the confidence that he’s living the life he’s been called to live.
Because of that, he’s pressing pause on touring while he focuses on his faith, his health including mental health, and his family. He also shared that he’s actively seeking professional help during this time.
Here’s part of his statement:
“I’ve taken a hard look at areas of my life that need serious attention and change. My faith comes first, and right now I don’t feel right stepping on stage without the confidence that I’m living as the man God has called me to be. For that reason, I’m pausing touring for the time being and focusing on my faith, my health, and my family.”
King also acknowledged how difficult it is to step away, especially after spending the last decade on the road, but says this is a necessary step so he can come back stronger, more focused, and more grateful than ever.
Several upcoming shows have already been canceled or postponed, including Rodeo Austin and other dates in Texas, Arizona, and California.
We’re wishing Randall King nothing but the best as he takes this time to focus on what matters most.
