The Grand Ole Opry will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack with a special one-night show on February 28 at the Opry House in Nashville.
Released in 2000 and produced by T Bone Burnett, the soundtrack became a major success, topping the Billboard 200, going multi-platinum, and winning Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards. The project played a key role in bringing bluegrass, folk, gospel, and traditional American music to a broader audience.
The anniversary show will feature a mix of artists connected to the soundtrack and musicians influenced by its legacy. Performers include Alison Krauss, Dan Tyminski, Emmylou Harris, Del McCoury Band, Old Crow Medicine Show, Billy Strings, Molly Tuttle, Sarah Jarosz, and Jerry Douglas.
Actor Tim Blake Nelson, who appeared in the film and contributed vocals to the soundtrack, will also be part of the celebration.
The Opry will also mark the anniversary with limited-edition merchandise and a newly released vinyl edition of the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack.
