Country music star and Grand Ole Opry member Marty Stuart has been forced to delay upcoming performances after slipping on ice in Nashville and injuring his hand and wrist.
Stuart shared the news on his social channels, explaining that the fall resulted in a painful hand injury and a sprained wrist, along with a hairline fracture that’s currently keeping him from playing his guitar or mandolin.
In his update, Stuart joked about the injury while also expressing his disappointment at being sidelined. He asked fans to excuse the postponed dates and said he and his band, The Superlatives, are eager to get back on stage as soon as he’s healed.
He also told followers to look for updated scheduling information and contact their ticket point of purchase for any refund questions. Stuart added that his recovery is progressing “by the day” and thanked supporters for their well wishes.
The accident happened amid a significant winter storm that hit Nashville late last month, leaving many without power and creating hazardous ice conditions around the city.
