Brad Paisley is set to join American Idol this season as a guest mentor, working with the show’s Top 20 contestants as they move deeper into the competition.
Paisley already popped up during the season premiere earlier this week, where he surprised longtime friend Carrie Underwood with a prank during Nashville auditions held at Belmont University, his alma mater. Paisley and Underwood previously teamed up as co-hosts of the CMA Awards for an impressive 11 straight years.
Keke Palmer will also step in as a guest mentor this season. American Idol airs Mondays from 7–9 p.m. on ABC, with episodes available to stream the following day on Hulu. Paisley’s mentoring role will be featured in Episodes 908 and 909, filmed at Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii, airing March 16 and March 23.
A three-time Grammy winner and Grand Ole Opry member since 2001, Paisley has co-written 21 of his 25 career No. 1 singles. His catalog has generated nearly five billion streams, and he was recently inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Over a 25-year career, he’s earned an extensive list of honors, including multiple Grammys, American Music Awards, ACM Awards, and CMA Awards.
