Country music artist Dale Watson has announced a new full-length album titled Unwanted, scheduled for release on April 24th, 2026. The project marks Watson’s first new music since his 2023 record Starvation Box.
Unwanted will feature 12 tracks, all of which are self-produced and written by Watson himself. Fans can expect a continuation of Watson’s traditional country and honky-tonk roots. The release is being supported by a new single titled “Willie, Waylon and Whiskey,” which dropped today as a preview ahead of the album.
The new record was recorded in both Austin, Texas, and Memphis, Tennessee, cities closely tied to Watson’s long career in roots and outlaw country music. It includes contributions from his regular backing band The Lonestars, as well as collaborations with other musicians in the Austin and Memphis scenes.
