Big Loud Texas has added a new name to its roster and it’s another Lambert. Soul-country singer-songwriter Alex Lambert has officially signed with the Texas imprint, kicking things off with his new track “Shoot Me Down” and an accompanying video.
The signing marks the label’s second announcement of the week, following news that they’ve also picked up Julianna Rankin.
“It’s literally been a perfect fit signing with Big Loud Texas,” Lambert shared. “With Miranda Lambert and Jon Randall leading the Texas imprint, it makes for a true artist-first team. It’s been an absolute dream come true to have my vision as an artist brought to life by this incredible record label and to represent my home state of Texas.”
Label co-head Jon Randall echoed the excitement, saying, “We are so excited to have Alex Lambert in the Big Loud Texas family. His talent and passion are extraordinary, and we are honored to be a part of his musical journey. We cannot wait for the rest of the world to hear what he’s been working on.”
Though the last name might raise eyebrows, Alex Lambert is not related to Miranda Lambert, but he was discovered by her. Lambert grew up outside Fort Worth and started playing guitar at just eight years old, learning from his grandfather — a singer, songwriter, and producer. His musical DNA runs wide, shaped by everything from Journey and Michael Jackson to Willie Nelson, Sam Cooke, Bill Withers, and D’Angelo.
He cites John Legend, Amos Lee, Kacey Musgraves and Leon Bridges as key influences, and his blend of soul and country reflects that lane.
Fans will get a chance to catch him live soon because Lambert hits the road with Ty Myers starting at the end of the month, with dates running through May.
