Lee Ann Womack is officially back with brand-new music and it comes courtesy of one of the most chaotic, dusty, and addictive shows on TV right now: Landman.
Her new song, “Middle Of A Storm,” is part of Landman: Songs From and Inspired by the Paramount+ Original Series (Volume II), which just dropped today. If you’ve been following the West Texas oilfield drama (and all of our ongoing conspiracy theories about that finale…), the soundtrack is a perfect fit for the show’s rugged, emotional world.
“Middle Of A Storm” feels like classic Lee Ann in all the best ways: smoky, aching, and built around a story you can actually sink your teeth into. It also marks a pretty big moment for her fans… this is her first new release since 2017’s The Lonely, The Lonesome & The Gone.
The coolest part? Womack co-wrote the track with Billy Bob Thornton, Mark Collie and songwriter Adam Wright, which ties it directly into the show’s creative universe. Thornton and Collie are both part of the Landman cast and music brain trust, so it has that authentic Texas grit baked right in.
Womack shared the news on socials this morning, saying she loves a good Texas story — and this song sits right in the middle of one.
Volume II of the soundtrack features 20 tracks from a wide mix of country and Americana artists, including Whiskey Myers, Warren Haynes, Colter Wall, Dalton Davis and more. If you’re into the rootsy side of the soundtrack world, it’s worth a full spin.
Check out Lee Ann Womack’s “Middle Of A Storm” above and let us know what you think. Pretty solid way to kick off a new year of Landman obsession if you ask us.
