Country music star and Army Reservist Craig Morgan just hit another huge milestone in his military career.
On January 15, 2026, Morgan was promoted to Chief Warrant Officer 2 in the U.S. Army Reserve during a ceremony at the Pentagon. The promotion was officiated by Pete Hegseth, serving as Secretary of War, in front of military leadership, family, and friends.
This isn’t some quick patriotic photo op for social media. Before his country career ever took off, Morgan spent 17 years serving in the Army and Army Reserve, including time with the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions.
After building a successful run in country music, writing a memoir, and piling up hits, he did something most people don’t: he went back. On July 29, 2023, during a live show at the Grand Ole Opry, Morgan surprised the crowd by reenlisting and being sworn into the Army Reserve on stage, kicking off a new chapter of service.
In early 2024, he was appointed Warrant Officer 1, and now this latest promotion to Chief Warrant Officer 2 recognizes his continued commitment and leadership in uniform, even while he’s out on the road touring and making music.
For a guy whose brand has always been built on God, family, and country, this promotion just makes official what fans already know: Craig Morgan isn’t just singing about service — he’s living it.
Congratulations, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Craig Morgan.
