If you’re not already on the Red Clay Strays bandwagon, they’re one of the most exciting up-and-coming country/Americana bands right now with gritty Southern rock vibes, old-school soul, and a frontman with a voice that could sand a piece of furniture. The fact that Kelly Clarkson picked their song for Kellyoke is the kind of visibility most emerging bands dream about.
As usual, Kelly does Kelly things with powerhouse vocals, a full-band arrangement, and that “how is she doing this at like 9AM on TV?” energy.
Between this and the Strays’ recent wave of streaming success and sold-out shows and that CMA win, it truly feels like they’re having a moment… and Kelly just helped pour gas on that fire.
