As if 2025 hadn’t already been a heavy year, Dolly Parton closed it out after experiencing a heartbreaking loss, the death of her husband, Carl Dean, whom she shared more than 50 years of marriage with.
Even in the middle of grief, Dolly showed the world exactly who she is.
On New Year’s Eve, she took to social media to share a heartfelt message with fans, offering gratitude, love, and hope as we all turned the page into a new year.
“Can you believe it’s already time to ring in the new year?” Dolly said. “As we say goodbye to the old and welcome the new, I want to wish each and every one of you a year filled with happiness and more blessings than you can count.”
It’s a message that hits a little deeper knowing what she’s been carrying. In addition to losing Carl, Dolly also dealt with health issues throughout the year, including kidney stones and an infection that forced her to postpone several appearances and shows. Still, instead of retreating quietly, she showed up … with grace, faith, and her trademark warmth.
If anyone has earned a year full of gentle days and big blessings, it’s Dolly. Here’s hoping 2026 gives her exactly that and then some.
