Netflix is officially reviving Star Search for the first time in 20 years. The classic talent competition returns on January 13, 2026, and this time it will stream live twice a week on the platform.
Anthony Anderson has been tapped as the new host, leading a lineup of singers, dancers, comedians, magicians, and kid performers. Viewers will also be able to vote in real time, making the show interactive in a way the original never could be.
The original Star Search helped launch huge names like Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, and Usher, and Netflix is aiming to bring that same “discover the next big star” energy into a new era.
New episodes will stream on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, giving fans a regular weekly competition schedule.
