Wyatt Flores had a pretty special gig recently, and it didn’t happen on a big stage or in front of thousands of fans. Instead, he was at his best friends’ wedding, performing a heartfelt acoustic cover of the Turnpike Troubadours classic “Diamonds & Gasoline” for their first dance.
Flores shared the moment online, along with a sweet message to the newlyweds, Conner and Kayli Powell, saying they’ve been a huge part of his life over the last four years and that he “would not be who I am without them.” You can feel every bit of that emotion in the performance.
The clip has taken off, and it’s easy to see why. “Diamonds & Gasoline” is already one of the most-loved songs in the Red Dirt world, and hearing Wyatt put his own spin on it in such a personal setting makes it even more special.
