Gretchen Wilson is celebrating the 20th anniversary of her debut album Here for the Party in a big way! She is re-recording the entire thing as a duets album with some of today’s biggest names in country music.
The original Here for the Party dropped back in 2004 and made a massive impact. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, went multi-platinum, and gave us the anthem “Redneck Woman.” Now, two decades later, Gretchen is breathing new life into those same songs and bringing along some heavy-hitters to help her do it.
So far, she’s revealed that:
-
Cody Johnson will duet on “When I Think About Cheatin’” – one of his personal favorites.
-
Tanya Tucker is joining in on the reimagined version of “Redneck Woman” (fitting, since she’s mentioned in the original).
-
Miranda Lambert, Travis Tritt, and Ella Langley are also expected to appear on various tracks.
Each of the 10 original songs is being re-recorded as a duet, and while there’s no official release date just yet, Gretchen says she’s deep in the recording process and hoping to have it ready by early next year.
Stay tuned for more details as they roll out.
