Two Alabama boys walk into a studio, and out comes one solid country song. Riley Green and Jamey Johnson have teamed up for a new track called “Smoke,” and it sounds exactly like you’d hope: laid-back, gritty, and full of that southern charm both guys are known for.
Riley says writing it with Jamey was a blast. The two spent some time together earlier this year, and when Jamey decided to cut the song himself, Riley was all in. “He called and said, ‘Hey, where are you? I just recorded it.’ If he was thinking about recording it and putting it on his record, I guess I ruined that!” Jamey joked.
The collaboration made sense because both are Alabama natives and even went to Jacksonville State University and if you want to catch it live, Jamey will join Riley on a run of Damn Country Music Tour dates this month, November 6th through 22nd.
