Once scolded by an elementary school teacher who told him that he would never amount to anything if he didn’t “stop talking to whoever happens to be sitting next to him,” Chip took that as a lifelong challenge rather than a warning. Since then, he’s turned small talk into an art form—refining his ability to spark conversation with anyone, anywhere, and about anything – occasionally even when he’s by himself.
His knack for pulling fascinating stories out of complete strangers—usually before the first beer’s gone—is one of the cornerstones of Drinking Texas Nights. A fan of some dogs, most trucks, and every Texas craft blonde, Chip proudly supports a woman’s right to choose—as long as it’s ice cold and she’s the one buying the next round.
A former collegiate athlete, Chip’s played baseball with Rick Trevino, rolled Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Cody Hibbard, and out-golfed Trent Cowie so badly that he’s frightened off potential challengers Scotty Alexander and Hayden Baker. He’s currently hard at work on his greatest invention yet: the 17.5-ounce pint glass (for personal use only).
