Y’all, Jelly Roll just gave one of the most powerful speeches we’ve ever heard and it happened at the Dove Awards of all places.
He picked up three trophies, including Song of the Year for his collab with Brandon Lake, “Hard Fought Hallelujah.” But instead of talking about the win, he used his time on stage to drop a message that hit everyone right in the heart.
“Put faith on your feet and feet on your faith,” he said. “Walk out of this building and go do for the least. They’ve heard of Jesus — now show ’em Jesus.”
It was real, raw, and straight from the soul. He talked about how people loved him when he didn’t deserve it, and how that changed everything.
For a guy who started out rapping about his struggles and winding up in country music superstardom, seeing him stand on that stage talking about grace and second chances? It’s something special.
