On October 9, 2025, Flatland Cavalry joined some pretty legendary company out in Lubbock!
The band was officially inducted into the West Texas Walk of Fame, recognized for their contributions to music and community. Even better? They were welcomed into the fold by their good friend and fellow Texas Star, Josh Abbott.
The honor celebrates artists who’ve helped shape the cultural spirit of West Texas and few have carried that torch quite like Flatland. From their humble beginnings in Lubbock bars to sold-out shows across the country, they’ve always worn that West Texas grit and heart proudly.
In a message to fans, the band thanked Lubbock for “considering our efforts of building community through music worthy of this distinct honor.” They added, “We accept it proudly and with gratitude.”
Congrats to our Texas favorites on earning a permanent place in West Texas history.
